On April 6, 2017, the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) held its 25th Executive Board meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The meeting was headed by the ISSF President HRH Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of HE Mr. Azad Rahimov Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan and HE Mr. Akif Çağatay Kiliç Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey.
At the outset, HRH Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz extended his warm welcome to all the ISSF Executive Board members and participants in the meeting. In his opening remarks, he thanked the people of Azerbaijan for their generous and warm hospitality and the Azerbaijan Islamic Solidarity Games Operations Committee (AISGOC) for their careful preparations for the Baku 2017 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
He also extended his warmest thanks to HE Mr. Ilham Aliyev President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his unwavering support and commitment to render the Games a great success and HE Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva the Republic’s First Vice President and AISGOC Chair for her motivating leadership and efficient organization for the Games.
After the opening remarks, all the items on the agenda had been taken up for discussion. According to the meeting agenda, the ISSF activities and seminars taken place during the previous Executive Board term had been discussed.
The strategy of sport development for the Islamic countries which was adopted in the 3rd Session of the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sport, held in Istanbul, the Republic of Turkey, was reviewed and approved by the ISSF Executive Board.
The application file of 2021 Istanbul 5th Islamic Solidarity Games Candidacy was reviewed and approved by the ISSF Executive Board.
The ISSF President extended his sincere congratulations to the Republic of Turkey on hosting the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2021. He also thanked the people and government of the Republic of Turkey for hosting the 5th Games.
At the end of the meeting, the ISSF President thanked all the ISSF Executive Board members and participants in the meeting and wished them all more permanent success and prosperity.
