The 2nd International Solidarity Archery Championships, hosted by Dhaka, the Capital city of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, was inaugurated on Sunday 6th may, 2018 in the presence of HE Dr. Biren Sikder Minister of Youth and Sport in Bangladesh and HE Mr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Garnas Secretary General of ISSF as well as HE Amb. Syed Shahed Reza Secretary General of NOC of Bangladesh, Lt. Gen. Md. Mainul Islam President of Bangladesh Archery Federation and Executive Board Member of ISSF and Mr. Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol member of ISSF Executive Member and Secretary General of Bangladesh Archery Federation.
Sixteen NOCs participated in the Championships: namely (Azerbaijan, Uganda, Chad, Morocco, Tajikistan, Turkey, Iraq, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Nepal, Mauritania and Bangladesh).
HE Dr. Biren Sikder delivered a speech and welcomed the delegations participating in the Championships and said “Dhaka is ready to host this Event “and wished all good luck to all participants.
Then, the ISSF Secretary General gave a speech and conveyed the best wishes of the Consultant and President of ISSF Hon. Turkey bin Abdulmohsen Al Alsheikh, and thanked the officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sport and officials of the NOC of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Archery Federation for their valuable efforts, and referred to the good news that the results of this 2nd edition of the championships will be enlisted in the world ranking enabling the participants involved to improve their ranking internationally and wished success to all participants.
