
Fifth Islamic Solidarity Games Conclude in Konya
The fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games concluded Thursday evening in Konya, Turkey, with 4,200 athletes representing 54 countries.
This edition featured competitions in 24 sports, and the games were inaugurated on August 9th at the Konya Municipality Stadium.
Throughout the competition, 1,223 medals were awarded, including 379 gold medals, 372 silver medals, and 472 bronze medals.
Turkey, the host country, topped the medal standings at the end of the games with 341 coloured medals, including 145 gold, 107 silver, and 89 bronze.
Uzbekistan secured the second position with 158 medals, including 51 gold, 42 silver, and 56 bronze.
Iran claimed the third spot with 133 medals, including 39 gold, 44 silver, and 50 bronze.
