Conclusion of the Workshop on Intellectual Property in Sports Institutions
Dubai, UAE (29th March, 2018)
Under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid AL MAKTOUM President of the National Olympic Committee of United Arab Emirates, and in cooperation with both the “Dhahi Khalfan Intellectual Property Center” in UAE and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, the “Workshop on Intellectual Property in Sports Institutions” has been concluded on Wednesday 19th March, 2018after two successive days of activities.
The closing session was attended by Mr. Mohammed Saleh AL-GARNAS the Secretary General of ISSF, Mr. Abdul Mohsin Fahad Al Dosari, Assistant Secretary-General of Sports Affairs at the UAE General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Quality and Excellence at the Dubai Police and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Saad AL-DALLAK the ISSF Treasurer, Mr. Mohammed Bin Darwish, Executive Director of the UAE National Olympic Committee and a number of lecturers and academic personalities interested in sport.
Mr. AL-GARNAS the ISSF Secretary General has delivered a speech, in which he thanked the officials of both the UAE General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, NOC and EIPA`s officials. He also conveyed the greetings of H.E. Mr. Turky bin Abdulmohsen A-ALSHEIKH the ISSF President.
In his speech, Mr. AL-GARNAS stressed the keen interest of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation to attend this workshop. He emphasized the fact that UAE, always, takes precedence in addressing these issues being important basics to maintain the Mottos of Sports Institutions. He referred to the major role played by the ISSF as it combines 57 Member States and attends a large segment of sport sector all over the World.
At the end of the workshop, Eng. Daoud ALHAJRI the Secretary General of the UAE National Olympic Committee stressed the importance of organizing similar seminars and scientific workshops to promote knowledge and education of all and to build strong bridges to facilitate communication and exchange of experience.
Afterwards, Mr. AL-GARNAS distributed certificates of participation to the attendees from UAE, Jordan, Bahrain and Tunisia.
