Coordination Meeting held between ISSF and Arab Cycling Federation
07 September 2020.
Within the discussion of future ways of cooperation between the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) and the Arab Cycling Federation, the ISSF Secretary General Mr. Mohammed S. AL-GARNAS held a coordination meeting with the Secretary General of Arab Cycling Federation Counselor Ismaeil S. AL-HOSANI, via ZOOM Video Conferencing, on 07 September 2020.
During the meeting, they discussed the tasks and roles of each Federation to serve the Youth and Sports in Arab and Islamic countries and the possibility of potential cooperation between the two Federations through drafting and signing a joint MoU identifying the main aspects and roles of cooperation to hold joint training courses, programs, events and other activities for the service of Youth and Sports, especially Cycling, in Arab and Islamic countries.
It is worth mentioning that the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) is chaired by its President HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki ALFAISAL, and its membership comprises 57 Islamic countries. The Arab Cycling Federation is chaired by its President HH Sheikh Faisal bin Humaid Al Qasimi, and its membership comprises 19 Arab countries with technical and valuable experiences in organizing major cycling events, championships and training courses.
The official sports program for the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games scheduled to be held in Konya, Republic of Turkey in September 2021, will contain – for the first time – Road and Track Cycling events for both men and women. The partnership and cooperation between the two Federations will create considerable opportunities for both parties through taking advantage of each party`s experiences and relations to organize high-level Arab and Islamic Cycling championships.
