The 30th ISSF Executive Board Meeting
The 30th ISSF Executive Board Meeting was held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday 08th April 2019 headed by HRH Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki ALFAISAL the ISSF President. The meeting was attended by all members of ISSF Executive Board.
The most important decisions taken during the meeting are as follows:
- The Executive Board welcomes the request by the Supreme Council of Youth & Sport and NOC of Palestine to nominate Al-Quds as Sports Capital of the Islamic Countries (SCIC) for 2020, and would like to thank the Supreme Council of Youth & Sport and NOC of Palestine for their bidding file and for their keenness to nominate Al-Quds as SCIC.
- The Executive Board thanks the Tunisian National Olympic Committee and the National Weightlifting Federation of Tunisia for their interest to host the 6th edition of the ISSF International Solidarity Weightlifting Championship, in November 2019.
- The Executive Board thanks the National Olympic Committee and National Taekwondo of Algeria for their keenness to host the championship during July 2019.
- The Executive Board thanks the National Olympic Committee of Tunisia and its National Federation of Wushu Kung Fu for their interest to host the ISSF International Solidarity Wushu Kung Fu Championship in September 2019 as the first championship.
- The Executive Board approves that Algeria to host the “Sport management and coaching by women” seminar in September, 2019” and the UAE to host the “Women Leaders Forum.”
- The Executive Board commended the initiative of Mr. Saeeed Abdulghafar HUSSAIN to contribute to the preparation of a “Model/patern” of hosting the championships which are held under the umbrella of ISSF and for his specifying the liabilities of hosting country/countries and the obligations of both the ISSF and the participating NOCs.
- Formation of a committee, under the chairmanship of ISSF president and memberships of Senior Vice President & Secretary General of ISSF to put strategic short-term and long term plan for future targets of the ISSF to work under cooperation with experts from Islamic Countries.
- Formation of new committees at the ISSF ( i.e. Competition Committees, Athletes Committee, Women in Sport Committee, Anti-Doping Committee, Media Committee & marketing Committee)
- Formation of a working group & workshop group to support and to implement the sports’ strategy at the Islamic countries as approved by the Ministers of Youth & Sport of Islamic Countries.
